Visit to a dog shelter
The initiation for this visit was from our history teacher Mr. Blagovest Hristov (he teaches in the bulgarian national programme) who has adopted a female dog from the shelter and our CAS coordinator Mrs. Adriana Hristova.
Some of the dogs we saw in the shelter were in a very bad condition. They had wounds on their bodies and some even were completely scared of people nearing them. There were ones who were really aggressive towards us because they have been put through a lot. We were told by the person who feeds the dogs that some of them were purposely hurt as a kind of punishment. I was left with really bad impression because who could do this to their own dog ? Like really ? They are living creatures for Gods sake !
I took for a walk two dogs. The first one was smaller in size but was the first one that caught my attention, The second was bigger and more energetic which lead me to have some help with the walking of it, but my best friend helped me.
I, personally, left the dog shelter with the idea of returning back to it when I have enough time. This creatures need love and affection and I am ready to do whatever I can to let them have it. And it is not only me with this type of thinking. All of the class think as I do.
What I learned from this activity is that you must not be cruel to animals at all. They do not deserve that kind of treatment.
Well.. till next time
