Trip to Chiflika 31.10-02.11

HALLOWEEN TIME !
As a tradition in our school, the 11th IB class has to organise the annual Halloween celebration for the 8th graders. The preparation for  the scary night began a week before the the actual party and everyone from our IB group had a task to do. My task along side with female power of the group was to buy the awards for the games the boys had chosen and sweets. We also bought scary decorations. plastics snakes and spiders, pumpkin like candles and a cobweb.
We started our trip after school, round lunch time. We had a stop in Troyan, a city round 18-20 km away from our final destination where we had our lunch break and we had an hour to explore this balkan like city.
After our arrival at the hotel in Chiflika, we left the 8th graders to have free time till dinner as we were preparing the room were the celebration was going to take place. We worked hard but at the same time we  laughed a lot because what is work without a little entertainment.
Most of the 8th grades have chosen skeletons as  costumes. My role in the celebration was to be a jury, judging who wore the best and most creative and scary halloween costume. We danced a lot and laughed along with the kiddos.
I had chosen to pretend to be the cat-woman. Honestly it was a last-minute choice because I did not have enough time to search for other.

The next morning after breakfast we had a nice walk in the village, relaxing in the nature. I do not know why but the night before the 8th graders were not very keen on the idea to merge with us, communicate with us ect. but during the walk  some of them were brave enough to ask us about the IB programme, some of the teachers and the hobbies we have. It was very pleasant.
On our last day we stopped at Oreshaka where we visited the national exhibition of arts and crafts. It was very useful for the IB visual art students (myself included cause im a visual art student) because we saw different kind of crafts some really amazing others..left me personally  questioning what i see.
What did I learn from this trip? That group work is the best work when we share the same opinion and help each other grow up.
Well...till next time !
