Erasmus + project and new one coming...

At the beginning of December (04.12-09.12 2017) I participated in an Erasmus Youth Exchange Project in Sigulda, Latvia.

I have never been to such kind of projects before so it was a completely new experience for me.  At the very beginning when my English teacher/mentor chose me as participant from our school, I was so excited and happy that I was given such opportunity but as the date of our flights to Riga, Latvia, came closer and closer I began to feel doubt in myself and my English skills as well as my skills of socializing and interacting with new people.
My fears were unproven because when we got there I met a lot of very nice and friendly people who were keen on the idea of creating strong bonds with the countries participating in the project. We had a little bit of difficulties with understanding each other because some of the participants had very poor English but we somehow managed to understand each other.
The activities started sharp at 9:30 and finished round 7 pm exactly time for dinner . During the first two days we had a variety of activities to get to know each other with the participants. We were put in certain situations were teamwork was required and I learned the hard way that some people either were just too stubborn or just did not want to participate in the bonding activities. To be honest some of them were quite boring but others such as the dictionary game wee quite interesting. We had a very little time to go sightseeing in Sigulda but we somehow made it to their ski lift and took a photo of the group even though it was not the whole. Some of the participants were too cold to go outside.
The last 3 days of the youth exchange we were separated into groups ans we were given the basics of how to create an youth exchange project. It was a challenge for me because I had a lot of disagreements with my teammates and a lot of good ideas in my opinion were thrown in the bin just because some of them did not agree on certain things. At the end after a lot of long discussions we created the base for international project between Bulgaria-Latvia-Hungary-Lithuenia-Spain that we will start in the spring of 2018 and hopefully if the national agency in Spain accepts it I will be the leader for the bulgarian group which will be of 5 people aged between 17 and 25 that are profesionally unoriented.
All in all I can say that i had a lot of fun and I learned from certain situations that patience is the key to solve everything
So that is from me..
Till next time
- D 💚
