Halloween trip almost failed but not really

On the 31st of October  we were about to start a journey to Roumania, but the tour agency we had to travel with failed us, lied us, and tried to excuse itself but our teachers weren't buying it. So long story cut short, we got our money back and the 8th graders were disappointed beyond belief.
The 11th IB graders, who organised the whole trip,  asked the headmaster if they could have the auditorium of the school for their Halloween Party.
The preparation for the party took place a few hours before the Night of the Post-Apocalyptic Party.
Some of  us, 12th graders, helped with the decorating of the auditorium. We had a lot of fun while doing so,  and we were excited for the night.
Theeeen the disappointment came. For the trip sixty people from 8th grade had signed, for the party the 11th IB expected all the girls and boys to come. In reality 18 people came. The 11th IB were disappointed because they had put so much effort, I personally helped them with the choosing of the topic of the party, I monitored the whole process and helped when needed.
Even though not all of the people came, we had fun because the effort that 11th graders has put paid off.
