18th October - European Anti-trafficking day
On the 18th of October in the hall of the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo , the 8th and 11th IB grades were invited to take a participation in a presentation for the human trafficking round the world and the online bullying.
The topic was
introduced to the audience by a representative of the municipality. We were
shown a few very graphical videos of what is really human trafficking and the
ways how usually especially young women are manipulated and tricked into the
schemes of the traficants.
For me what was
really shocking was the fact that these schemes are really things from life.
What I mean is that you can fall in the situation where you can meet this
extraordinary guy and you fall in love with him. The things between you and him
are going very smoothly till the moment a gang appears on his door, kick him
and you want to give him everything you could so he can be out of danger. And due
to the fact you are probably deeply in love with him, you agree to sleep with a
complete stranger. Slowly the love of your life turns you into a prostitute.
The video I′m
retelling was directed and captured by students and was really .. me,
personally, left me speechless.
The other video
we were shown was even more eye-opening for me. The interne manipulators and
bullies. How the use of internet can
turn from a pleasant experience into a complete nightmare.
What this
experience taught me is that I should really be careful with the people I met,
not to be naïve, to be careful what I share in my social accounts.
Well .. till next time!
